| Chinese Government Devote Major Efforts to Promote Ground Source Heat Pump |
The first piece of 鈥淩enewable Energy Law鈥 in China was carried out formally on January.1,2006. This shows that the Chinese government begins to focus on environmental protection. The law indicates specifically: Geothermal energy is a promising energy which can be used in heating, cooling and power generation as with solar, wind energy and biomass.
With the promulgation of the Renewable Energy Law, a series of policies start to implement. Special funds for renewable energy development management was approached on May.30,2006 : 鈥漡eothermal energy become the key support project by government as with solar and wind energy鈥.
A policy to support heat pump system is issued in Beijing in May 2006, the policy states that any government investment projects should take priority in use of heat pump system. The policy also provides to give allowance of 35-50RMB per square meter for the use of heat pump system.
A policy to promote the construction and application work of ground source heat pump system is issued in Shen Yang in Oct 2006. The city plans to achieve application area of 18 million square meters for the use of ground source heat pump technology by the end of 2007. Afterwards, no less than 16,000,000 square meters will be used for the construction and application of ground source heat pump technology every year. There will be more than 30% of the heating area in the city plan by the end of 2010.
New policy provides to give 20 RMB per square meter Lump-sum subsidy for the heat pump users in Shanghai. The data will be soon adjusted in Shanghai and the allowance will be increased to 55 yuan / square meter. A similar policy is planned to introduce in other cities especially to the application of heat pump system, either to give direct subsidies or to lower utility bills.
